Roll over, roll over, roll over,O ye leaf
You can't be green forever.
Fly away, fly away, fly away in the breeze
If you can't keep clinging together.
Look below, upon the grass blades
You can't shout while you fall
lest the blades get disturbed
from their dreamy pause.
Lie quiet and still on the ground in the dark
Shimmer with a share of dew at dawn
help an insignificant life cross the pond
If other leaves smirk, let them scorn.
You now lie apart from them
They, who were so indifferent
You now lie free and in peace
From the insensitive mortal acquaintance.
May you enjoy the company of your solitude
And some golden splashes of the past
May you have no desires, no gratitude
But just a content silence to last.
