The Afternoon Star

A revolving sun
around the earth;
A galaxy I'd
created for myself.

A flower bud
seeking nectar;
A swarm of bees
I'd belonged to.

Everything already in,
the answers to every whim;
Each thing I'd searched for,
outside.
Every dream, achievable,
the tales, never far-fetched;
Each time I doubted
my own ability.

A star shining
with the afternoon sun;
you came along
so bright.

Laughs we shared
in an amusement park;
you taught me to laugh
in joy.

When things fell apart,
You feared to start;
Taking your flight
at midnight.
The storms that came
in your absence, the seldom meeting
would still suffice.

I've lived this long, learnt lessons a few.
A few from myself, a few from you.

The awe I felt on your sight
Was the reflection of the ability inside.
