The leaf

Roll over, roll over, roll over,O ye leaf
You can't be green forever.
Fly away, fly away, fly away in the breeze
If you can't keep clinging together.

Look below, upon the grass blades
You can't shout while you fall
lest the blades get disturbed
from their dreamy pause.

Lie quiet and still on the ground in the dark
Shimmer with a share of dew at dawn
help an insignificant life cross the pond
If other leaves smirk, let them scorn.

You now lie apart from them
They, who were so indifferent
You now lie free and in peace
From the insensitive mortal acquaintance.

May you enjoy the company of your solitude
And some golden splashes of the past
May you have no desires, no gratitude
But just a content silence to last.

Reaching the plains

There was the usual chill in the air that day, but it was also accompanied by a friendly warmth.
A tourist travelling through the hills and valleys once exclaimed in a shocked voice,"It seems I've finally reached the plains!" A fellow tourist asked how was the journey so far and he replied,
"I had started right from the deepest valley. After much climbing, I reached the mountain top. But as I was descending, there was a bridge right in between, connecting the descend of the mountain to this plain, avoiding the underlying deep valley. I took the bridge, but I don't know how it came there."
"Maybe someone built this bridge so that other travellers don't drop down the deep valley in which he fell."

Why ignore???

Why do people ignore you, treat you with indifference?
They are the same people who once always stood by your side, shared the minutest of details about themselves with you, made innumerable promises...only to break them in due time??
And we sit in the company of our solitude, with a lone ray of hope that they would someday speak to you, ask you about your well being and in return talk about their own selves. I've always searched the calendars to find that "someday" but I never do. Never does the "someday" come and never does the always desired "somebody". It's all an illusion. All promises...meant to be broken, all dreams meant to be shattered, all tears meant to be spilled for meaningless specks in the seas of our life, that were mere onlookers. Mere visitors with farce faces. No, they are not hypocrites, but they still behave like them at times. They probably aren't even aware of the hurt they are gifting to us. But the question is, even if they are aware of it, would they change for the better? or just ignore you as life does?

The leaf and bubble

This is something I've felt too many times to be counted. The wish of breaking all the bonds, crossing out the boundaries, reaching high up..and being peacefully in a place unknown to humanity, free of the mortals, the body, the soul, the brain, the heart...free of everything...where you could just be with yourself..free of your thoughts and regrets in life.

This makes me realize that living in fanatsy is far too tempting and suddenly reality starts to fade around the corners, becoming a dream in our world of fantasy. A nitghtmare, more precisely. But it is far better than living in a nightmare and dreaming about fantasy.

We are all this leaf, confined in the bubble of reality, that seems to be unbreakable. What we struggle for in our life is a little needle that would help us break that bubble and let us free. Is this the purpose of life?
